As it often happens, I completely forgot that the internet exists. Being a part of generation Y is confusing. We are completely submerged in a highly saturated social vortex, but often reminisce of and digress to a world where one would have to leave their home to be considered social. This record rivals Vespertine, and I think it takes the cake. Ive spent so much time with this record. I remember listening to “Hunter” for the first time very clearly. At that point in my life, I hadn’t heard anything like it. I put it in my fall rotation every year. I smell nutmeg as soon as the first note rings out.

Autumn Music: Post 1
Autumn, for me, is by far the most beautiful season. It evokes such strong emotion. It’s a time when many living things are dying or preparing to be in a state of unconsciousness, no longer self aware. Why this season makes me feel most alive, I’ll never know. Every year I dive deep into experiencing the feeling that fall gives me. Naturally I turn to music, which evokes some of the strongest emotions I’ve ever felt. I thought it would be fun to share this music with you. There are several albums I put on repeat every year.

Nick Drake – Five Leaves Left
In a way, Nick Drake’s life encapsulates the full expression of the season. He died unexpectedly at the age of 25 before anybody knew his music. Some 20 years after his death he became one of the most influential singer/songwriter/bad ass guitar players. The paradox that death brings life is the most confusing and beautiful reality.

Hey everyone!
So sorry it took me so long to get to these. We had four very long days in the studio and my mind is melting onto the floor.
So the most popular question was asked by Daniel Chang-Fong… ”Are you guys still planning on making sheet music of your songs??”
The answer is yes but we suck at doing things. Luckily our good friend Richie English is on the job. He’s a brilliant composer, transcriber, pianist and human to put it lightly. He has already undergone the task of notating the piano parts to the best of his ability. (which is exceptional.) Our hope is to get it into some format that everyone to have access to. We’ll keep you posted on that.
The second most popular set questions were asked by Mat Ombler ”How much inspiration do you take from video games/video game composers? And can we expect any more collaborations or covers?”
Nice question, Mat. I think that video game music has had a big place in most of our lives growing up and continues to hold that place. I know I got my first NES when I was in 2nd grade or so and it would be no overstatement to say that it changed my life. Aside from being exposed and enthralled with this new world of interactive entertainment, I was very much intrigued by the music that accompanied these games. I would get to a stage in a game that had a particular score I enjoyed, turn the TV screen off and blast it through my family’s home stereo. I remember trying to play nintendo melodies on a old Casio keyboard we had around the house. My path to the land of nerd led me to computer games and a strong interest in creating music with computers. At the time there were only primitive ANSI (text) based sampling platforms. If you remember .mod files, then you are / were a nerd in the 90′s. I spent countless hours composing electronic music on these platforms (using my slow ass 386 – 16mhz processor) to the neglect of homework / social life.
Let’s jump to now. I am almost completely certain that we are constantly drawing from compositional material from endless libraries of games that we have played over the course of our lives. Albiet 99% of this is not deliberate, and we won’t realize it until we play an old game and it strikes us…”hey… we used this melody / chord progression / ect. in such and such song.”
You can hope for more collaborations and covers for sure. As you lovely folks continue to support our efforts through the purchases of music and other kindo paraphernalia, it enables us to use that money for the recording and producing of more music. We hope to begin releasing a steady stream of musical undertakings after this next record is done.
Perhaps it would be interesting to have some of the other guys talk about their experience with video games and how they’ve influenced them? We can make it happen if you like. We have the technology.

Questions, anyone?
Hi folks.
For those of you just joining us, I’m going to be addressing a few questions that were asked on our Facebook wall over the past several days… The questions were then voted on and I will be answering/doing my best to answer those which received the most votes.
Mr. Hector Berlanga asked ”When is the new album coming out and what’s the theme?” and seemed to generate some good interest from everyone else.
Though it looks like we were making important decisions... we were probably discussing lunch.
Well folks, as of now we are aiming to get this new record wrapped up and ready to hit the market in the summer months. We don’t have a specific date yet as we are still making the record and it’s most important to us that we feel it’s everything we want it to be before we put it out there. Also we are hoping to launch a decent marketing campaign to help us reach some new folks as well. This will take some planning indeed.
Thematically speaking, when we write our music and our records, we have yet to set out and stick with a specific theme. Usually the themes develop via happenstance. I can tell you that this could be one of the most diverse sounding Kindo records yet. Things are still developing and because we do a lot of our writing and final arranging in the studio, we know only a little bit more about what’s to come than you do. This keeps things fun and exciting for us, you see.

Regarding Kahlil Chu-For‘s question, “When’s the dvd coming out?”, this project has been evolving quite a bit. We are actually aiming to put together a short film that will include selections from the DVD recording as well as a great deal of footage that has been shot as we write and record this record. All we have is lots of footage and intentions to continue generating more throughout this process. I can’t give a date for when this will be done or released because we aren’t certain when to make a cut off for filming. I like the idea of documenting this process to help paint a picture of it for our fans. We have captured the very moments of when some of these songs on the upcoming records were taking shape and being recorded. It’s been interesting to leaf through some of the footage and observe ourselves at work and making decisions that will be heard on the record. I hope to possibly have several other Kindo concerts recorded to include selections from them for the film as well. Of course I’m sure it won’t be without footage of us acting like complete asses as well. As for now, the project remains a bit abstract… but I think it will be way more fun than a simple “Live DVD”.
